Is jack ten suited a good hand?

Open it from anywhere and call raises in position where its drawing power shines. It makes both ends of straights, it makes flushes, and it flops open-enders and combo draws constantly. That gives it a lot of equity when called and a lot of ways to apply pressure, which is why it plays so well in position despite making only middling pairs.

This hand opens for a raise from every position, including under the gun.

Common mistake: Overvaluing a pair when the real value is in the draws. Jack ten wins big pots with straights and flushes, not by calling down with a pair of tens.
