Play poker against a computer that plays like real players

Why practicing against the right computer opponent works
Real tendencies
Five of the opponents are modeled on how real players play. Each one plays true to its style, calling, folding and raising with the hands that kind of player really does.
Unlimited reps
A live game gives you thirty hands an hour and a handful of tough spots. A computer opponent gives you hundreds of decisions in a session, with the same style in every one of them, so the patterns become recognizable.
Nothing at stake, everything saved
Try the aggressive line or the thin value bet without paying for the lesson, then replay the hand and see what the opponent could have held.
Learn to play against the actual strategies you will face when real money is on the line, without paying for the lesson.
Five computer opponents modeled on real players
Each one is a common way of playing cash games, written out street by street. It decides from its own cards, the board, the position and the betting so far, the way that style of player does. The same opponent calls in one spot and folds in another, keeps some draws and gives up on others, and raises the river with the hands that style really raises with.
Loose Passive
Calls small bets with any pair, folds weak pairs to big ones
How to Beat a Calling Station in Poker →Loose Aggressive
Bets the flop with too many weak hands, then gives up most of them by the river
How to Play Against a Maniac (LAG) in Poker →Regular
Small bets on almost every flop in position, then turn overbets after the flop checks through
Adaptive
Reads your saved hands and changes how it answers your bets
And a GTO-style opponent
When you want the reference instead of the exploit, choose the GTO opponent. It plays hand-written rules modeled on solver play and never adjusts to you. It is the opponent to test your fundamentals against before you go hunting for leaks.
Will
- Use several bet sizes, from a quarter of the pot to the full pot
- Check some strong hands and bet some bluffs
- Play the same strategy against everyone
Will not
- Adjust to how you play
- Open-limp
- Lead into you on the flop without a strong hand

Real hands, real format
Six-max cash games from $1/$2 to $500/$1,000, at 100 and 200 big blinds deep.
Every hand kept
Replay any hand, take over at any decision and play out the line you wish you had taken. The leak finder flags the tendencies that keep costing you after fifty hands.

Questions about playing poker against a computer
Can I play poker against a computer for free? +
Yes. Poker Shark runs in the browser with nothing to install and is free during early access. You play cash-game hands at a six-seat table: each hand, one of the computer opponents plays you heads-up while the rest fold, and every hand is saved for review.
Are Poker Shark's opponents real people? +
No. They are computer opponents. Five of them are modeled on real player types, so each plays the way a real loose-passive, tight-passive or maniac player plays, hand after hand. The sixth plays a GTO-style strategy from hand-written rules.
Can I play poker against a GTO or solver opponent? +
Yes, with one caveat. The GTO opponent plays hand-written rules modeled on solver play, not solver output, and it never adjusts to you. Use it to check your fundamentals, then switch to the five player types to practice collecting on real mistakes.
Does the computer see my cards? +
No. Every opponent decides from its own cards, the board and the betting so far, never from yours. Beating it means reading its range, the same skill you need at a real table.
Is playing poker against a computer good practice? +
Yes, when the computer plays like real players. Poker Shark's player types are modeled on how real players play, so you practice the reads you use at a real table, and every hand is saved so you can replay the decisions you were unsure about.
