What are the pot odds on a three-quarter pot bet?

A three-quarter pot bet needs about 30% equity to call, around 2.3-to-1.

30.0% Equity needed to call
2.3 : 1 Pot odds

One-card direct odds assume you fold after a miss and pay no further bets. Use by-the-river odds when this call guarantees both cards, such as an all-in or a guaranteed free river.

A three-quarter pot bet is a strong value and pressure size. You need 30% to call, and with chips behind only a combo draw has that on the next card. Flush draws and open-enders need implied odds, and thinner draws usually fold.

Worked example: the pot is 100 on the flop and your opponent bets 75. You call 75 to win the 100 already there plus the 75 bet, 175 in total. 75 to win 175 is 2.3-to-1, and 75 divided by 250, the pot after your call, is 30%.

A combo draw hits the turn 31.9% of the time and just clears 30%. A flush draw at 19.1% and an open-ender at 17.0% are well short and need to win about 1.9 and 2.5 times the bet more when they hit. If the call puts you all-in, a flush draw at 35.0% and an open-ender at 31.5% both clear it, which is why the same bet can be a call with short stacks and a fold with deep ones. On the turn every draw except the combo draw at 32.6% is short.

Quick tip: Three-quarter pot asks for about 30% equity to call.
