Open it from anywhere and call raises in position where it can flop big and realize its equity. It makes the king-high flush, it makes broadway, and top pair with a jack kicker is a real hand on many boards. The caution is the same as with most king-x hands: against heavy action it can be dominated by ace king and king queen, so do not get carried away.

This hand opens for a raise from every position, including under the gun.

Common mistake: Playing it like a premium out of position. King jack suited wants to flop flushes and straights in position, not bloat pots with a marginal top pair.

Quick tip: Strong flop potential, but the kicker can be dominated. Position makes it much easier to play.
