Open it from anywhere and re-raise it as a value hand against most opponents. It makes the top pair with the best or second-best kicker, it makes the nut flush, and it has clean equity even when behind. The one caution is against the tightest players who only re-raise huge: there, ace queen is dominated by ace king and the big pairs, so ease off the four-betting.

Common mistake: Stacking off light against a player who only ever shows up with ace king and aces through queens. Against that range, ace queen is the hand getting dominated.
