What is every hand worth on a J T 9 two-tone flop?

On a J T 9 two-tone flop, KQ flops the nut straight, the three flopped sets perform in a near dead heat against a random hand, and big overpairs like aces trail well behind the hands that truly connected.

HandFlopsEquityWhy it matters
KQs straight 93.2% The nut straight and the clear top of the table.
JJ set 83.4% Top set, though on this board the three sets finish in a photo.
99 set 83.6% Bottom set that concedes nothing to the top one.
QQ overpair 81.6% Overpair plus an open-ended draw, performing like a fourth set.
KK overpair 77.0% Overpair with a gutshot, already a step behind the queens.
AA overpair 72.1% The biggest pair in poker, and the weakest overpair on this flop.
Q8o straight 89.4% A straight out of nowhere. Nobody sees this hand coming, which is rather the point.
87s straight 84.3% The low straight from the small end of the deck.
AKo nothing yet 54.8% Two overcards and a gutshot that add up to barely better than a random hand.
76s nothing yet 34.4% Dressed up like it fits this board, but it holds only a gutshot and loses far more than it wins.

J T 9 with two hearts is the middle-broadway minefield: every rank from seven to king can end up in a straight here, three straights are already possible on the flop, and a flush draw shadows the whole thing. It is also the great equalizer of premium pairs. Nothing you could hold before the flop feels comfortable on this board, and the table below backs the feeling up.

KQ flops the nut straight and clears the field. Q8 and 87 flop the lower straights, both far ahead of a random hand. Then comes the strangest set cluster in this collection: jacks, tens, and nines all made sets, and the three finish in a photo, with bottom set giving up nothing to the top one. Pocket queens hold an overpair with an open-ended draw and hang right there with the sets, while kings and especially aces, overpairs with less to draw at, fall away behind them.

Suits matter in a way the labels can only hint at. A suited hand picks up the flush draw only when its suit matches the two hearts on board, which any given suited class does just part of the time. That is why suited and offsuit versions of the same hand sit closer together here than you might expect: a chunk of the suited bonus only shows up when the right suit came along.

The classic mistake is overrating big unpaired cards and big pairs alike. AK, the preflop darling, is barely better than a random hand here despite two overcards and a gutshot. And an overpair of aces, which feels like a mountain, is the weakest overpair configuration this board allows. When a flop smashes the middle of the deck this hard, respect the hands that actually met it.
